Below is a list of some of my past projects, each with their own requirements and purposes
Project 2: manufacture
Wooden Toolbox
The purpose of this project was to create a functioning toolbox based off a cardboard prototype created at an earlier date. The toolbox had to consist of at least 70% wood and fit within the required dimensions.
The toolbox I created functions similar to a tacklebox, so that the two top compartments open outwards revealing a compartment underneath.
Project 3: flat-pack light
Pop Light
This projects purpose was to create a flat pack light ‘shade’ that would fit into an A3 postal tube. The light ‘shade’ had to be made out of almost entirely polypropylene, with the exception of fasteners used to hold it together. The other items in the tube were instructions, product information and an LED.
The light shade I created consisted of several vertical cuts down the side to allow it to be compressed. With the strength of the polypropylene pushing the top of shade upwards, a spring like feature was made. This lead me to name it the Pop Light.
